About the Instructor

Trendz Barber Academy is currently operated and led by one master instructor, Jason “Jay” Estrada. 

Jay is from Post, Texas and transplanted to Lubbock, Texas in 2003. He holds a Class A Barber License and first began his journey as a licensed barber in 2008. In 2009, he founded Trendcutterz Barbershop which currently accommodates 7 full time barbers. In 2021, he founded Officialz Barbershop which currently accommodates 10 full time barbers. Both Trendcutterz Barbershop and Officialz Barbershop are located in Lubbock, Texas and are proud to serve the HUB City.

As passionate as Jay is about bringing quality services to all clients who walk thru his Barbershop establishment, as is his passion to instruct and promote growth at his Barber Academy.

Over the years, Jay has had the opportunity and good fortune of watching the barbers in his barbershop – and others in the industry- succeed and establish themselves. Early on in both his career and role of management, Jay recognized his passion to mentor and further assist his colleagues. He knew those desires to instruct, teach, help and mentor were not limited to the licensed barbers in his barbershop and needed to be made available to all persons with aspirations of becoming a professional barber.
